Earlier this month, we reported that with Safari 10 on macOS Sierra, Adobe Flash will be disabled by default. That means that websites will serve HTML5 interfaces as often as possible, but Safari 10 will also allow users to temporarily enable flash on a case-by-case basis or site-wide. This should lead to better performance, better power efficiency, and improved security, all areas in which Flash has hindered the Mac before.

Currently, Safari 10 is available for developers on both OS X 10.11.6 and OS X 10.10.5. It will, of course, be available to public beta testers next month when mac OS Sierra is also released to public testers. It will be released to everyone this fall.

Apple issued beta versions of Safari 10 for OS X 10.11 El Capitan and OS X 10.10 Yosemite on Thursday, granting developers access to new features like enhanced Safari Extensions, a redesigned Bookmarks interface and more.

Available through Apple's developer website, Safari 10 for OS X Yosemite and El Capitan presents an opportunity for those unwilling or unable to download the recently released macOS Sierra beta a chance to test out the next-generation web browser.
